NEGAUNEE — Steigerwaldt Land Services Inc. has announced the promotion of Lee Steigerwaldt to General Manager, effective immediately.

This promotion reflects a leadership transition from father to daughter and to a third generation family business. Ed Steigerwaldt Jr., who led the company for 38 years, will remain involved as president and continue to provide expert witness and valuation services.

Lee is a third-generation consulting forester with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in forest management, urban forestry, and philosophy. The forestry and real estate consulting firm is thrilled to have this talented Certified General Appraiser and ISA Certified Arborist take the lead – furthering the company’s mission to provide exceptional service.

Family-owned since its inception in 1957, Steigerwaldt has continually provided its customers with the highest quality workmanship with unparalleled customer service. Lee’s ascension to CEO comes after years of hard work, continuous education and an unwavering dedication to providing the best possible service. During her 20-year tenure, she has become an integral part of the business and is in a unique position to lead the organization into the future.

With Lee’s promotion, Steigerwaldt is now a woman-owned and run business. The Steigerwaldt team not only celebrates what this means for the company, but the industry as a whole. As the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors of the Executive Committee of the Association of Consulting Foresters, Lee is no stranger to promoting industry standards for diversity and inclusion.

Steigerwaldt also announced the promotions of Josh Burling to director of operations, Melissa Lane to director of office administration and accounting, and Ashley Beatty to director of communications and development.

The leadership team is complemented by the following additional promotions to the core team of our Vice Presidents, all of whom truly reflect Steigerwaldt’s mission, vision, values ​​and goals.
